See Chainsaw Caddy in action. This 3D animated video will provide a detailed look at the features and benefits of this invention.

Purpose

The invention allows a user to carry two chainsaws in one hand for long distances. Not only will this save time, but it frees up the other hand to carry other objects as well. It also eliminates the practice of hooking the saw bars in the handle which causes damage. The Chainsaw Caddy can even be used in the same way to carry rope, hoses, or even grocery bags.

The Problem

Some have been known to transport two chainsaws by interlocking the chain bar into the handle of the other saw.
Unfortunately, this may result in damage to the saw and the handle.

The Solution

… But now, there’s the Chainsaw Caddy!

Story Behind the Invention

An apparatus to aid in the manual transport of two chainsaws has been developed in Norco, CA.

Often workers must carry multiple chainsaws and make several trips, all while carrying other supplies too. Some people have been known to transport two chainsaws by interlocking the chain bar into the handle of the other saw. However, this can cause damage to the saw and the handle.

The idea was born after his brother asked the inventor to fabricate a piece for transporting chainsaws more efficiently. His solution worked so well that a year later, his brother asked the inventor to make more for all the other members at the fire station. Now, the Chainsaw Caddy is ready for market!

But how does it work? The invention features an inverted U-shaped metal frame with the approximate dimensions of eight inches tall and ten inches wide. The middle of the U provides a horizontal handle that is padded with a cover for comfortable carrying. The lower portion of each of the arms (provided at the bottom of the inverted “U”-shape), is bent upward into a “J”-hook arrangement. During use, two chainsaws are placed in a back-to-back configuration on a flat horizontal surface. Next, the J-hooks are hooked under each of the two handles on each chainsaw. The user then simply lifts the invention, along with the saws upward. The invention can even be used in the same way to carry rope, hoses, or grocery bags.
